Dr. Kathleen Berchelmann
Pediatrician & entrepreneur who is re-imagining Catholic healthcare to make it accessible & affordable without changing timeless values.
Dr. Berchelmann and her husband Greg co-founded MyCatholicDoctor, a growing group of 180+ faithful Catholic clinicians across the United States. MyCatholicDoctor is a “virtual hospital” that uses telemedicine, a network of physical locations, and innovative healthcare reimbursement models to make pro-life Catholic healthcare available to everyone.
Dr. Berchelmann is board-certified in Pediatrics and a member of the Catholic Medical Association. She sees patients through telehealth and in person at MyCatholicDoctor’s main office in Stamford, Connecticut. She is on staff at Stamford Hospital.
After graduating from Amherst College in 1998, Dr. Berchelmann completed a fellowship in medical ethics at Weston Jesuit School of Theology. She attended medical school at the University of Connecticut and completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
She remained clinical faculty at Washington University School of Medicine for another ten years. For seven years Dr. Kathleen Berchelmann served as Spokesperson for St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University, active in the national media while continuing to practice clinical medicine.
Dr. Berchelmann’s former blog, ChildrensMD, had more than 1 million page views per month. Her work has been featured in/on: Time Magazine, NPR, FoxNews, multiple radio shows, and hundreds of other print and online publications.
During her years in health media, Dr. Berchelmann became involved in Catholic Media, including a regular slot on the SonRise Morning Show. Questions flooded in from families desperately seeking Catholic healthcare providers they could trust. This led Kathleen and Greg to found MyCatholicDoctor.
In 2018 Kathleen and her husband Greg decided to make MyCatholicDoctor a reality, using telemedicine, a network of faithful physicians, and innovative healthcare reimbursement models to make Catholic healthcare available to all people.
